Duration of Performance

img_017.jpg

Babies do not do as adults want them to when you need to leave the house, when you’re coming to the theatre, when you to participate in Baby Theatre, etc…

Adults take many preparations before they participate, monitoring the baby’s conditions at all time.

They step forward, anxious that something unexpected may happen and that they may be too late to help, and it becomes even more stressful if they get lost:

“Even though I prepared to see the performance, we may not be able to get there on time…”

“What if my baby cries during the performance? I may waste the ticket fee, not able to participate in the whole performance…”

We would not want our participants to feel such stress and hope that they can simply visit our performance, looking forward to it no matter what.

If the duration of a Baby Theatre is short, mothers feel more stress on time.

Therefore, it is important that <you may come in, go out, and go home at any time>.

The duration of our performance was 2 hours and 30 minutes, and it was long enough for participants to have freedom in their coming and going.

If the duration is long enough, participants can enjoy the performance even if babies fall asleep and they may return to the performance after changing diapers or breastfeeding.

When we did our performance, most of the participants stayed more than 1 and a half hour. Some babies take a long time to get used to the space.

There was also a case that a baby started being active after 2 hours and moving toward performers, other babies, and adults.

We believe that a longer duration leaves more capacity to be closer to babies with different personalities and temperaments.
