
HANABI UWANOSORA
Hanabi Graduated from Osaka Kyoiku University with a degree in Education. While she was teaching at elementary school, she realized the unlimited potential of children’s individuality, imagination, and creativity. She currently produces projects of physical performances and integrated arts for children, not as a educator but as an artist.
She directs, choreographs, and produces all to R mansion productions. Her fantastic creations full of colorful images and visual ideas are loved by people regardless of age, background, or gender.
Her activities are broad in terms of collaborations with musicians, contemporary circuses, painters, and other genres of artists.

What is to R mansion?
Founded in 2007. It is a world-famous performance company that has been invited to theatres, theatre festivals, and street festivals in 16 countries, 82 cities. At Avignon Theatre Festival, all the performances were sold out, selected as one of the top 20 of Word of Mouth among 1082 performances. It received a number of prizes including 2-time Grand-Prix at at Kobe Biennale Street Performance Competition. As LIBERATION, a French leading paper, says, “This tremendous theatre company that has come from Japan performs slapstick comedy that brings all the laughter to the square at night”, it is highly praised overseas. The fashion designer, Jean-Paul Gaultier is also a big fan!
Performance
Their dynamic physical expressions integrate with the techniques and styles of film, manga, and animations. They transform time and space in protean manner and deftly use personal-belongings, objects, and textiles such as rubber and cloth, to demonstrate with sensitivity characteristic of Japanese culture. This is what they are praised for all over the world. Their rich catalogue of inventive, humorous pieces are full of humor and performed by vivid and eccentric characters to bring laughter and surprises to the world!
